Homemade Toothpaste

Homemade toothpaste is easy and quick to make with ingredients you may already likely have in your pantry! You can definitely tell a difference in how clean and smooth your teeth will feel right away. I have noticed great benefit from it. My teeth are whiter, my gum pockets (from a long history of gingivitis and already needing rooting & scaling by age 18) have shrunken, I have no more tartar or plaque build up, and I have no more bleeding gums when I go in for a cleaning. The difference in my oral health is night and day!

Homemade Toothpaste:

Ingredients:

  • Organic unrefined coconut Oil

  • Baking Soda

  • Peppermint or Clove Essential Oil (optional)

  • Small jar or dish for storage

Instructions:

  1. Take approximately 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil and place in a saucepan on the stove on low heat.

  2. Once it has liquified, add spoonfuls of baking soda to the coconut oil and stir. Continue to add more baking soda until it forms a paste-like consistency. You may also add a few drops of your essential oils at this time.

  3. Move the mixture into your storage jar. As the oil comes back to room temperature it will firm up. Use a small wooden spatula to spread this onto your toothbrush with a little water and you are ready to make those pearls shine!

Let me know if you have made your own toothpaste at home and if you too, have also noticed a difference!
